The Rain in Spain (..encourages beach-bums to do cultural things) pt.1

When rains strikes un-expectantly on a beach holiday with 4 girls what do you do?? Go to as many Spanish art galleries as possible. First up was the Modern Art museum in Palma - there we discovered not only many Miro's but also unknown Spanish artists from the 50's to present day.

Looks a bit like Anselm Kiefer....

Picasso? Juan Gris?

Engaging the un-educated with sex and violence.

My favourite was the modern take on Las Meninas by Velasquez (see above). Where random items fill the previously empty space in the original version - reflects our consumerist society where we have unnecessary clutter filling gaps in our lives.

In case you hadn't guessed the artists name is Dantzig.
