Best exhibition I've seen at the Saatchi in a long time. Finally the gallery is catching onto what the public actually want to see; themselves. The most popular art is something that everyone can relate to. Our society is dominated by social media and selfie addicts and this captures this perfectly; it gives a history of the selfie starting during the Baroque period with self-portraits and ending on Kim Kardashian. In addition, it also covers theme of voyeurism and surveillance. There is a room which is deeply disturbing; as soon as you walk into the room there are 10 camera's watching you, tracking you, and trying to draw relationships with other people in the room. This is what I want to see more of at the Saatchi; more topical themes, disturbing or controversial but with a lighthearted approach.
